Falling From the Abyss

Colors swirl and fade into my mind,
As I forget what I had left behind,
At peace in the darkness of this cosmic expanse,
Alone with my mind my senses enhance,
Mental shapes fall and then divide,
Whatever I was or tried to hide,
Everything leads me back to you,
Nothing else was ever as true,
Now I am stuck here in outer space,
Freely floating in a fall from grace,
Twisting and turning devoid of time,
Tempting fate my only crime,
I get caught up in your gravitational pull,
It reminds me again that I am a fool,
Your celestial body bringing me back down to earth,
Losing my reason for whatever it’s worth,
Tumbling and plummeting into your atmosphere,
I remember all of the the emotions that I should fear,
Velocity increases and burns my body to ash,
Because when we’re together it ends in a flash.
