I cannot take this pain away,
It’s here for as long as you let it stay,
Such a pretty face and a heart that’s oversized,
But they’re both underscored by the hurt in your eyes,
Somethings in life just are not fair,
The betrayals that happen leave us stripped bare,
And numb to thought of how to live life,
When every waking moment is left in chaos and strife,
Thoughts turn obsessive and they stick in your mind,
To the point where you believe that you did the crime,
But please dear realize that it never was you,
You did everything right and you even stayed true,
To one who enslaved themselves to their own base desires,
And burnt down what’s valuable with their self-started fires,
Life as it once was doesn’t look like it will return,
You don’t see a way out but there is a future you’ll learn,
It will take time, tears, effort, and pain,
But stay strong for the valued lessons you’ll gain,
You have a light that burns so bright inside,
That you don’t realize is there because you let it hide,
That hidden strength and determined resolve will pull you through,
But you must not falter; to thine own self be true,
When you come out of this crucible you will be wiser times ten,
And you will feel that happiness you miss now once again.
